Samarinda, 23 Juli 2024 - Pada pukul 11.15 WITA, Operator VTS menerima informasi dari agen melalui WhatsApp bahwa kapal MV Shanghai Express dengan callsign 9V8906 mengalami insiden menyentuh crane conveyor di dermaga KUTAI REFINERY (KRN) 1A selama proses sandar di bawah pengawasan pilot.
Saat menerima laporan, kapal sudah dalam posisi sandar di jetty KUTAI REFINERY. Operator VTS berusaha menghubungi kapal melalui channel kerja VTS untuk mengonfirmasi kejadian, namun belum mendapat respons, kemungkinan karena kapal sedang fokus pada operasional di atas kapal.
Pada pukul 11.20 WITA, Operator VTS melanjutkan pemantauan lalu lintas pelayaran dan perkembangan MV Shanghai Express. Mereka meminta agen kapal untuk menyampaikan kronologis kejadian dan berita acara dari nakhoda terkait insiden tersebut.
Pada pukul 18.05 WITA, agen kapal MV Shanghai Express, PT Laju Dinamika Utama, mengirim berita acara yang berisi kronologis insiden kapal menyentuh crane conveyor di dermaga PLTU selama proses sandar di Jetty KRN 1A.

Samarinda, 23 July 2024 - At 11.15 WITA, the VTS Operator received information from an agent via WhatsApp that the MV Shanghai Express with callsign 9V8906 had an incident touching the crane conveyor at KUTAI REFINERY (KRN) jetty 1A during the berthing process under pilot supervision.
On receiving the report, the vessel was already in berthing position at the KUTAI REFINERY jetty. The VTS operator attempted to contact the vessel via the VTS working channel to confirm the incident, but did not receive a response, possibly because the vessel was focusing on operations on board.
At 11.20am, the VTS Operator continued monitoring the shipping traffic and progress of the MV Shanghai Express. They requested the vessel's agent to provide a chronology of events and a report from the skipper regarding the incident.
At 18.05 WITA, the MV Shanghai Express' ship agent, PT Laju Dinamika Utama, sent the minutes containing the chronology of the incident of the ship touching the crane conveyor at the PLTU jetty during the berthing process at Jetty KRN 1A.
