Pada Rabu, 12 Juni 2024, pukul 21.50 WIB, KMP. SAMUDRA UTAMA, milik PT. Sadena Mitra Bahari, mengalami insiden kandas dalam pelayaran dari Pelabuhan Penyeberangan Ketapang menuju Pelabuhan Gilimanuk. Kapal tersebut kandas saat melakukan manuver masuk ke Pelabuhan LCM ASDP Gilimanuk. Pada saat itu, kondisi arus bergerak ke utara dengan kecepatan angin mencapai 15-20 knot.
Berdasarkan Berita Acara dari Kapal, tepat pada pukul 22.00 WIB, KMP. SAMUDRA UTAMA mengalami kandas pada posisi 08o 09,511’ S / 114o 26,272’ E, sekitar 2 cable di belakang Pelabuhan LCM Gilimanuk. Insiden ini terjadi saat kapal sedang melakukan olah gerak untuk bersandar di dermaga LCM ASDP Gilimanuk.

- 22 penumpang
Dugaan sementara penyebab insiden adalah arus dan angin yang kuat. Setelah menunggu air pasang, kapal akhirnya berhasil keluar dari kondisi kandas pada pukul 03.00 WITA, 13 Juni 2024. Kapal kemudian bersandar di Dermaga LCM Gilimanuk untuk melakukan proses bongkar muatan.
Setelah tiba di dermaga, kapal dan muatannya diperiksa oleh petugas. Tidak ada laporan korban jiwa atau kerusakan signifikan pada kapal. Penumpang dan awak kapal dalam keadaan selamat, dan proses penanganan pasca-insiden berjalan lancar. Pihak berwenang akan melakukan investigasi lebih lanjut untuk memastikan penyebab kandas dan mencegah kejadian serupa di masa depan.
