Buton Selatan, 16 Mei 2024 – Pada sekitar pukul 10.00 WITA, Kapal Rakyat Q Express yang berlayar dari Baubau menuju Pulau Batu Atas mengalami kebocoran pada haluan kapal. Salah seorang penumpang segera menghubungi petugas Siaga SAR untuk meminta bantuan evakuasi.
Pada pukul 11.25 WITA, Comm Centre KPP Kendari menerima informasi dari Bapak Sakiri yang melaporkan kecelakaan kapal tersebut, dengan jumlah POB (Person on Board) sebanyak 36 orang. Kapal mengalami kebocoran di sekitar perairan Batauga, Pulau Batu Atas.
Menindaklanjuti laporan tersebut, pada pukul 11.40 WITA, Tim Rescue Pos SAR Baubau diberangkatkan menuju Lokasi Kejadian Perkara (LKP) untuk memberikan bantuan SAR. Jarak antara LKP dengan Pelabuhan Murhum Baubau sekitar 26,7 NM. Kondisi cuaca saat itu berawan dengan kecepatan angin mencapai 26 km/jam yang berhembus dari timur ke barat.
Pada pukul 12.17 WITA, Tim Rescue yang menggunakan RIB berhasil menemukan kapal sekitar 10,86 NM arah utara barat laut dari LKP. Tim kemudian mendampingi kapal menuju perairan Desa Masiri untuk mencari tempat aman guna melakukan perpindahan penumpang. Kapal tiba di perairan Desa Masiri pada pukul 13.36 WITA.
Pada pukul 14.30 WITA, seluruh penumpang dipindahkan dari kapal Q Express ke RB 210 dengan menggunakan RIB. Sebanyak 30 penumpang dibawa menuju Pelabuhan Pulau Batu Atas, yang berjarak sekitar 35 NM dari perairan Desa Masiri. Sementara itu, enam orang ABK tetap di kapal untuk melakukan perbaikan.
Pada pukul 17.15 WITA, RB 210 tiba di perairan Pulau Batu Atas. Mengingat kondisi gelombang yang tidak memungkinkan untuk sandar di pelabuhan, 30 penumpang dijemput dengan menggunakan empat buah longboat untuk dibawa ke darat.
Dengan selesainya evakuasi seluruh penumpang kapal dalam keadaan selamat, operasi SAR dinyatakan selesai dan ditutup.

South Buton, May 16, 2024 – At around 10:00 WITA, the Q Express People's Ship sailing from Baubau to Batu Atas Island experienced a leak in the bow. One of the passengers immediately contacted the SAR standby officer to request evacuation assistance.
At 11:25 WITA, the Comm Centre KPP Kendari received information from Mr. Sakiri, who reported the ship accident, with a total of 36 people on board (POB). The ship experienced a leak around the waters of Batauga, Batu Atas Island.
Following up on the report, at 11:40 WITA, the Rescue Team from Baubau SAR Post was dispatched to the Location of the Incident (LKP) to provide SAR assistance. The distance between the LKP and Murhum Baubau Port is about 26.7 NM. The weather conditions at that time were cloudy with wind speeds reaching 26 km/h blowing from east to west.
At 12:17 WITA, the Rescue Team using an RIB found the ship approximately 10.86 NM north-northwest of the LKP. The team then accompanied the ship to the waters of Masiri Village to find a safe place for passenger transfer. The ship arrived in the waters of Masiri Village at 13:36 WITA.
At 14:30 WITA, all passengers were transferred from the Q Express ship to RB 210 using an RIB. A total of 30 passengers were taken to Batu Atas Island Port, which is about 35 NM from the waters of Masiri Village. Meanwhile, six crew members remained on the ship to carry out repairs.
At 17:15 WITA, RB 210 arrived in the waters of Batu Atas Island. Given the wave conditions that did not allow docking at the port, 30 passengers were picked up using four longboats to be brought ashore.
With the evacuation of all ship passengers in a safe condition, the SAR operation was declared complete and closed.
