Merak , 05 Maret 2024 - Selasa pukul 17.50 VTS Merak menerima informasi dari Nakhoda TB.Cathay 38 Towing Barge mengalami trouble engine pada posisi alur TSS Selatan 05 55.893" S - 105 45.736" E, Kapal meminta bantuan VTS Merak agar dibantu disiapkan Harbour Tug untuk mengassist TB.Cathay 38 ke Panjang.
Pukul 17.55 VTS Merak segera mengambil tindakan dengan membroadcast NTM securite ke kapal-kapal terdekat dan melaporkannya ke pihak Syahbandar Banten dan Syahbandar Bakauheni untuk segera memberikan bantuan Assist Tug kepada Kapal TB.Cathay 38 Towing Barge
Informasi terakhir yang didapatkan kapal tersebut telah mendapat bantuan Assist dari TB.Delta 1/YBBW2 dan saat ini kapal tersebut telah tambat di Buoy Pulorida pukul 07.15 LT , pada posisi / koordinat 05 54.038 S - 106 00.989 E . Seluruh Crew berjumlah 10 Orang selamat dengan kondisi aman.

At 17:55 VTS Merak promptly took action by broadcasting a NTM securite to nearby vessels and reporting to the authorities at Syahbandar Banten and Syahbandar Bakauheni to provide assistance by dispatching an Assist Tug to TB.Cathay 38 Towing Barge.
The latest information received indicates that the vessel has received assistance from TB.Delta 1/YBBW2 and is currently moored at Buoy Pulorida as of 07:15 LT, at position/coordinates 05 54.038 S - 106 00.989 E. All 10 crew members are safe and in good condition.
