Batam, 25 Desember 2024 – Insiden kebakaran menimpa KMP Mulia Nusantara (GT 861) berbendera Indonesia saat kapal sedang dalam proses sandar di Dermaga ASDP Telaga Punggur, Batam. Kebakaran yang terjadi sekitar pukul 12.00 WIB ini dilaporkan berasal dari ruang mesin kapal.
Beruntung, seluruh penumpang dan kendaraan berhasil dievakuasi dengan selamat ke dermaga tanpa adanya korban luka maupun jiwa. Api berhasil dipadamkan sebelum menyebar lebih jauh, dan sumber panas telah didinginkan sesuai prosedur keselamatan.
KN RANTOS-P.210, yang menerima laporan dari Koordinator Operasi Pangkalan PLP Tanjung Uban pada pukul 13.30 WIB, langsung bergerak menuju lokasi. Kapal bertolak dari Dermaga Bintang 99 Persada Batam pada pukul 14.00 WIB dan tiba di lokasi kejadian pukul 16.00 WIB. Saat tiba, api sudah tidak terlihat, dan lokasi telah diamankan oleh pihak terkait. Kapal juga dipasangi garis polisi untuk penyelidikan lebih lanjut.
Menurut informasi yang diterima dari Nakhoda KN.547 dan Pos KPLP Telaga Punggur, KMP Mulia Nusantara tengah dalam perjalanan dari Tanjung Uban menuju Telaga Punggur saat insiden terjadi. Api berhasil dipadamkan, dan seluruh penumpang beserta kendaraan dievakuasi ke dermaga dengan aman.
Pada pukul 16.30 WIB, kapal yang terbakar dipindahkan ke koordinat 01° 01' 692" N / 104° 07' 356" S untuk memberikan ruang bagi kapal lainnya di Dermaga Roro Telaga Punggur. Keputusan ini diambil guna memastikan kelancaran arus penyeberangan dan menjaga keselamatan pelayaran di sekitar lokasi.
Tim dari KN RANTOS-P.210, KN.547, KNP 376 KSOP Khusus Batam, dan unsur terkait lainnya terus melakukan pengecekan kondisi kapal dan koordinasi di lapangan. Hingga berita ini diturunkan, arus penyeberangan telah kembali normal, sementara investigasi atas penyebab kebakaran masih berlangsung.
Pihak berwenang mengimbau operator kapal dan Nakhoda untuk selalu mematuhi prosedur keselamatan guna mencegah insiden serupa di masa depan.

Batam, December 25, 2024 – A fire broke out on KMP Mulia Nusantara (GT 861) under the Indonesian flag while the vessel was docking at the ASDP Telaga Punggur Pier in Batam. The fire, reported to have originated in the engine room, occurred at around 12:00 PM WIB.
Fortunately, all passengers and vehicles were safely evacuated to the pier without any injuries or fatalities. The fire was successfully extinguished before it could spread further, and the heat source was cooled according to safety procedures.
KN RANTOS-P.210, which received the report from the Operations Coordinator of the PLP Base in Tanjung Uban at 1:30 PM WIB, immediately departed for the scene. The vessel left the Bintang 99 Persada Batam Pier at 2:00 PM WIB and arrived at the location at 4:00 PM WIB. Upon arrival, no signs of fire were visible, and the site had been secured by relevant authorities. The vessel was also cordoned off for further investigation.
According to information obtained from the captain of KN.547 and the KPLP Telaga Punggur Post, KMP Mulia Nusantara was en route from Tanjung Uban to Telaga Punggur when the incident occurred. The fire was extinguished, and all passengers and vehicles were safely evacuated to the pier.
At 4:30 PM WIB, the burned vessel was moved to coordinates 01° 01' 692" N / 104° 07' 356" S to make way for other vessels at the Roro Pier in Telaga Punggur. This decision was made to ensure smooth ferry traffic and maintain navigational safety in the area.
A team from KN RANTOS-P.210, KN.547, KNP 376 KSOP Batam, and other related units continued inspecting the vessel and coordinating on-site. As of this report, ferry traffic has returned to normal, while an investigation into the cause of the fire is still underway.
Authorities urge vessel operators and captains to always adhere to safety procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
