Raja Ampat, 31 Desember 2024 – Insiden kebakaran terjadi pada kapal penumpang tradisional Ocean Pure 1 di perairan Raja Ampat, dengan koordinat posisi 00°20’961” S / 130°11’962” E. Kebakaran diduga disebabkan oleh korsleting listrik di ruang laundry, tepatnya di belakang mesin pengering. Peristiwa ini mengakibatkan satu awak kapal mengalami luka bakar serius, sementara penumpang tidak mengalami cedera.
Insiden terjadi sekitar pukul 16.45 LT, saat kapal sedang berlabuh jangkar. Seorang awak kapal melaporkan adanya kebakaran kepada nakhoda, Ismail Tatali, yang langsung membunyikan alarm kebakaran pada pukul 16.47 LT. Nakhoda segera menginstruksikan upaya pemadaman api oleh awak kapal dan menyebarkan berita bahaya melalui VHF Channel 16.
Namun, api semakin membesar hingga tidak terkendali pada pukul 17.30 LT, memaksa nakhoda menginstruksikan evakuasi seluruh awak kapal dan penumpang ke Pulau Yefinat menggunakan sekoci. Salah satu awak kapal yang mengalami luka bakar serius segera dievakuasi ke rumah sakit di Waisai menggunakan rubber boat milik kapal KLM Lamima, yang merespons informasi darurat melalui radio.

Raja Ampat, December 31, 2024 – A fire incident occurred aboard the traditional passenger vessel Ocean Pure 1 in the waters of Raja Ampat, located at coordinates 00°20’961” S / 130°11’962” E. The fire is suspected to have been caused by an electrical short circuit in the laundry room, specifically behind the dryer machine. The incident resulted in one crew member sustaining serious burns, while all passengers remained unharmed.
The incident occurred at approximately 16:45 Local Time (LT) while the vessel was anchored. A crew member reported the fire to the captain, Ismail Tatali, who promptly sounded the fire alarm at 16:47 LT. The captain instructed the crew to attempt extinguishing the fire and issued a distress call via VHF Channel 16.
By 17:30 LT, the fire had grown uncontrollable, forcing the captain to order the evacuation of all crew members and passengers to Yefinat Island using lifeboats. One crew member with severe burns was immediately evacuated to a hospital in Waisai via a rubber boat owned by the vessel KLM Lamima, which had responded to the emergency distress signal via radio.
