Situbondo, 8 Desember 2024 – Kapal Motor (KM) Fajar Lorena Sari yang berlayar dari Sapudi menuju Situbondo mengalami insiden tenggelam di perairan Situbondo pada Minggu, 8 Desember 2024, pukul 12.00 WIB. Kapal tersebut diketahui membawa 51 penumpang dewasa dan 7 anak-anak.
Kronologi Kejadian
Berdasarkan informasi awal, insiden terjadi ketika papan lambung belakang kapal terlepas akibat hempasan ombak dan angin kencang. Hal ini menyebabkan kebocoran besar pada badan kapal, mengakibatkan mesin kapal mati sekitar pukul 12.00 WIB.
KM Fajar Lorena Sari akhirnya tenggelam di tengah perairan Situbondo. Upaya penyelamatan segera dilakukan oleh kapal terdekat, dan pada pukul 17.20 WIB kapal Berlian Selatan berhasil mengevakuasi korban ke perairan Jangkar.
