31 Oktober 2024 – Kantor Pencarian dan Pertolongan Biak menggelar operasi pencarian dan pertolongan (SAR) setelah menerima laporan jatuhnya seorang Anak Buah Kapal (ABK) KM Sumber Samudra Jaya-8 ke laut, Kamis, 31 Oktober 2024. Laporan yang tercatat dengan Nomor 108/SAR-04/1024 menyebutkan bahwa ABK yang jatuh adalah Misbahul Munir, seorang pria berusia 22 tahun. Menurut informasi dari nakhoda dan kru kapal, insiden tersebut terjadi di sekitar koordinat 05°-0.00’ N / 136°-42.0’ E atau di perairan utara Pulau Padaidori, Kepulauan Padaido, Biak.
Dalam upaya pencarian, Kantor Pencarian dan Pertolongan Biak telah berkoordinasi dengan kapal-kapal yang melintasi area perairan Kepulauan Padaido. Diharapkan agar semua kapal yang melintasi perairan tersebut meningkatkan pengawasan dan pengamatan di sekitar area dan siap memberikan bantuan jika menemukan korban. Laporan dari kapal-kapal terkait penemuan korban diharapkan segera disampaikan kepada Kantor Syahbandar atau Stasiun Radio Pantai (SROP) terdekat untuk langkah lanjutan.
“Kami mengimbau kepada semua kapal yang melintas agar turut berpartisipasi dalam pengawasan serta segera memberikan bantuan jika menemukan tanda-tanda keberadaan korban,” demikian pernyataan resmi Kantor Pencarian dan Pertolongan Biak. Upaya pencarian ini diharapkan bisa segera membuahkan hasil dan korban dapat ditemukan dalam kondisi selamat.
Operasi SAR akan terus berlanjut hingga ada perkembangan lebih lanjut, sementara pihak kapal telah diberi informasi mengenai situasi terkini dari proses pencarian.

The report, recorded as Number 108/SAR-04/1024, identifies the missing crew member as Misbahul Munir, a 22-year-old male. According to information from the captain and crew, the incident occurred around coordinates 05°-0.00’ N / 136°-42.0’ E, or in the northern waters of Padaidori Island, Padaido Islands, Biak.
In its search efforts, the Biak Search and Rescue Office has coordinated with vessels passing through the area near the Padaido Islands. All ships navigating these waters are requested to increase vigilance and monitor the area, and they are encouraged to provide assistance if they spot the missing crew member.
