Cilacap, 7 Oktober 2024 – Kantor SAR Cilacap menerima laporan adanya insiden Man Overboard (MOB) pada Senin, 7 Oktober 2024, sekitar pukul 09.20 LT. Seorang anak buah kapal (ABK) dari KM Gibran Jaya 02 dilaporkan terjatuh dan tenggelam di perairan Samudera Hindia. Insiden ini terjadi pada koordinat 08°30'0.57" S dan 108°39'36" T.
Menurut laporan awal, ABK tersebut terjatuh saat sedang melakukan aktivitas di atas kapal. Tim Basarnas Cilacap langsung bergerak cepat dengan mengerahkan personel dan peralatan pencarian untuk menemukan korban. Operasi pencarian difokuskan pada lokasi kejadian, dengan menggunakan metode penyisiran di sekitar area perairan tempat ABK tersebut dilaporkan jatuh.
Kepala Kantor SAR Cilacap menyatakan bahwa pencarian akan terus dilakukan dengan optimal, bekerja sama dengan unsur SAR lainnya yang berada di wilayah tersebut. Kondisi cuaca dan arus laut yang dinamis di Samudera Hindia menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi tim pencari. Namun, pihak Basarnas tetap berkomitmen untuk menemukan korban secepat mungkin.
Sampai saat ini, operasi pencarian masih berlangsung, dan belum ada kabar terbaru mengenai penemuan korban. Basarnas menghimbau kapal-kapal yang melintas di area tersebut untuk waspada dan memberikan bantuan jika melihat tanda-tanda keberadaan korban.
Pihak keluarga korban saat ini terus menunggu perkembangan dari proses pencarian, dan Basarnas berjanji akan memberikan informasi terbaru seiring dengan berjalannya operasi penyelamatan.

A crew member (ABK) of KM Gibran Jaya 02 was reported to have fallen overboard and drowned in the waters of the Indian Ocean. The incident occurred at coordinates 08°30'0.57" S and 108°39'36" E.
According to initial reports, the crew member fell while performing activities on the ship. The Cilacap Basarnas team quickly mobilized personnel and search equipment to locate the victim. The search operation is focused on the location of the incident, using sweeping methods around the area where the crew member was reported to have fallen.
The Head of the Cilacap SAR Office stated that the search will continue optimally, in coordination with other SAR elements in the region. The dynamic weather conditions and ocean currents in the Indian Ocean present a unique challenge for the search team. However, Basarnas remains committed to finding the victim as quickly as possible.
