Sapeken, Sumenep – Insiden blackout menimpa kapal kargo MV Grand Fortune di perairan utara Pulau Sakala, Kepulauan Sapeken, Sumenep, pada tanggal 6 Oktober 2024. Berdasarkan laporan dari KUPP Kelas III Sapeken, kapal tersebut mengalami kerusakan mesin yang menyebabkan kapal kehilangan daya dan mengapung di perairan.
Kapal MV Grand Fortune, yang bertolak dari Probolinggo menuju Molawe pada tanggal 29 September 2024 pukul 20.00 LT. Pada tanggal 4 Oktober 2024 mengalami masalah teknis pada Auxiliary Engine (AE). Informasi yang diterima menyebutkan bahwa mesin AE mengalami kerusakan sehingga kapal mengalami blackout, diikuti dengan mati mesin pada Main Engine (ME). Akibat dari insiden ini, kapal tidak dapat bergerak dan mengapung di perairan.
Untuk mencegah kapal hanyut lebih jauh, MV Grand Fortune melego jangkar di utara Pulau Sakala pada tanggal 6 Oktober 2024 pukul 09.00 LT. Kapal berhasil menurunkan jangkar pada kedalaman sekitar 10 meter, dengan posisi koordinat Lat 06°28’51.31”S Lon 116°14’42.24E di perairan tersebut.
Menurut laporan dari nahkoda, beberapa komponen yang mengalami kerusakan meliputi:
- Panel di ruang kontrol mesin.
- Panel box dinamo.
- Switch breaker AE 1.
Akibat kerusakan ini, kapal tidak dapat melanjutkan perjalanan dan membutuhkan bantuan segera. Stok makanan di kapal dilaporkan mencukupi untuk hari ini, namun diperkirakan akan menipis besok pagi. Oleh karena itu, UPP Sapeken segera mengirimkan bantuan perbekalan dan makanan untuk para awak kapal.
Kapal bantuan dari UPP Sapeken telah diberangkatkan pada pukul 09.00 LT dan diperkirakan akan tiba di lokasi MV Grand Fortune pada pukul 18.00 LT. Bantuan ini sangat penting untuk mendukung kebutuhan para awak hingga kapal tunda yang dikirim oleh pemilik kapal dari Banjarmasin tiba untuk menarik kapal tersebut ke pelabuhan terdekat.
Kondisi Cuaca Pada Saat Evakuasi
Laporan cuaca dari lokasi insiden menunjukkan bahwa kondisi cuaca di sekitar perairan Pulau Sakala cukup baik, dengan cuaca cerah, angin bertiup dari arah Timur-Tenggara (T-TG) dengan kecepatan antara 3 hingga 13 knots, serta gelombang laut relatif tenang dengan ketinggian 0,1 hingga 0,5 meter. Tidak ada peringatan meteorologi yang dikeluarkan, sehingga operasi bantuan dapat berlangsung dengan aman dan lancar.
Koordinasi terus dilakukan antara UPP Sapeken, SROP Badas, dan pihak pemilik kapal untuk memastikan penanganan insiden ini berjalan lancar. Kapal tunda dari Banjarmasin saat ini sedang dalam perjalanan untuk menarik MV Grand Fortune menuju pelabuhan terdekat guna melakukan perbaikan lebih lanjut. Sambil menunggu kedatangan kapal tunda, para awak kapal diharapkan dapat bertahan dengan bantuan yang diberikan.

Sapeken, Sumenep – The cargo vessel MV Grand Fortune experienced a blackout in the waters north of Pulau Sakala, Sapeken Archipelago, Sumenep, on October 6, 2024. According to a report from KUPP Class III Sapeken, the vessel encountered an engine failure that resulted in the loss of power, leaving the ship adrift in the waters.
MV Grand Fortune had departed from Probolinggo bound for Molawe on September 29, 2024, at 20:00 LT. On October 4, 2024, the ship encountered a technical issue with its Auxiliary Engine (AE). The information received indicated that the AE malfunctioned, causing a complete blackout, which was then followed by a shutdown of the Main Engine (ME). As a result, the vessel was left stranded and adrift in the water.
To prevent the vessel from drifting further, MV Grand Fortune dropped anchor north of Pulau Sakala on October 6, 2024, at 09:00 LT. The ship successfully anchored at a depth of approximately 10 meters, Lat 06°28’51.31”S Lon 116°14’42.24E its position in the waters.
According to the captain's report, several components sustained damage, including:
- The control room panel.
- The dynamo panel box.
- The AE 1 switch breaker.
Due to the damage, the vessel could not proceed with its voyage and required immediate assistance. The food supplies onboard were reported to be sufficient for the day, but they were expected to run low by the next morning. As a result, UPP Sapeken quickly dispatched emergency provisions and food supplies for the crew.
A rescue vessel from UPP Sapeken was dispatched at 09:00 LT and is expected to arrive at MV Grand Fortune by 18:00 LT. This aid is essential to support the crew until a tugboat sent by the shipowner from Banjarmasin arrives to tow the vessel to the nearest port.
Weather Conditions During the Rescue
The weather report from the incident location indicated favorable conditions, with clear skies, winds blowing from the East-Southeast (E-SE) at speeds ranging from 3 to 13 knots, and relatively calm seas with wave heights between 0.1 and 0.5 meters. No meteorological warnings were issued, allowing the rescue operation to proceed safely and smoothly.
Coordination is ongoing between UPP Sapeken, SROP Badas, and the shipowner to ensure a smooth handling of the incident. The tugboat from Banjarmasin is currently en route to tow MV Grand Fortune to the nearest port for further repairs. While awaiting the tugboat's arrival, the crew is expected to manage with the aid provided.
Maritime authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure the safety of the crew and the smooth flow of vessel traffic around the Sapeken Archipelago.
