Batam, 3 Oktober 2024 - Sebuah kapal nelayan dilaporkan tenggelam di sekitar perairan Batu Berhenti dengan koordinat (01°11.687N/103°53.191E) pada pukul 15:50LT). Informasi awal mengenai insiden ini disampaikan oleh kapal Sindo 10 yang pertama kali menerima laporan kecelakaan tersebut.
Kapal HORIZON 9 yang berada di sekitar lokasi segera memberikan bantuan darurat dan berhasil menyelamatkan tiga nelayan yang menjadi korban tenggelamnya kapal tersebut. Ketiga korban berhasil dievakuasi sementara, sambil menunggu penjemputan oleh kapal patroli KN TANJUNG DATU untuk proses penyelamatan lebih lanjut. Pada pukul 15:56 LT, HORIZON 9 melaporkan bahwa ketiga korban telah berada dalam kondisi aman.
Proses evakuasi tuntas pada pukul 16:37 LT, ketika ketiga nelayan dipindahkan dengan selamat ke kapal KN TANJUNG DATU. Setelah operasi penyelamatan selesai, HORIZON 9 melanjutkan perjalanannya menuju Singapura pada pukul 16:39 LT.
Ketiga nelayan yang selamat saat ini berada di kapal KN TANJUNG DATU untuk mendapatkan perawatan lebih lanjut. Sementara itu, pihak berwenang masih menyelidiki penyebab tenggelamnya kapal tersebut.

Batam, October 3, 2024 - A fishing boat was reported to have sunk near the Batu Berhenti waters at coordinates (01°11.687N/103°53.191E) at 15:50 LT. Initial information regarding the incident was provided by the Sindo 10 vessel, which was the first to receive the accident report.
The HORIZON 9 vessel, which was in the vicinity, promptly provided emergency assistance and successfully rescued the three fishermen who were victims of the sunken boat. The three victims were temporarily evacuated while waiting for pickup by the patrol ship KN TANJUNG DATU for further rescue operations. At 15:56 LT, HORIZON 9 reported that the three victims were in safe condition.
The evacuation process was completed at 16:37 LT when the three fishermen were safely transferred to the KN TANJUNG DATU vessel. After the rescue operation was concluded, HORIZON 9 continued its journey to Singapore at 16:39 LT.
The three rescued fishermen are currently on board the KN TANJUNG DATU vessel receiving further medical care. Meanwhile, authorities are still investigating the cause of the boat's sinking.
