Linau, 26 September 2024 – Sebuah insiden kandas melibatkan kapal kargo GEORGIA SEJAHTERA dilaporkan di perairan Linau. Kapal dengan muatan 7.300 ton biji besi tersebut mengalami kebocoran pada lambung kanan, yang memaksa nakhoda untuk mengkandaskan kapal di koordinat 4°55.673' S 103°34.419' E.
Berdasarkan keterangan dari Chief Officer Dwi Handoyo dan Masinis 1 Amri Nur Arifin, kebocoran terdeteksi pada pukul 22.00 WIB. Kapten kapal, Suhardin, segera memutuskan untuk mengkandaskan kapal satu jam kemudian, yaitu pukul 23.00 WIB, demi mencegah kerusakan lebih lanjut. Kapal tersebut sedang dalam perjalanan dari Tapak Tuan, Aceh, menuju Surabaya dengan 18 orang awak.
Tindakan UPP Linau Setelah berkoordinasi dengan instansi terkait, pihak UPP Linau segera melakukan pengecekan di lokasi pada pukul 08.00 WIB. Posisi kapal kandas telah dipastikan di titik koordinat 4°55.673' S 103°34.419' E. Saat ini, kru kapal tengah mencari alat pompa untuk menyedot air laut dari dalam kapal guna mengurangi kebocoran, yang ditemukan di dua titik pada lambung kanan kapal.
UPP Linau terus berkomunikasi dengan kru kapal, terutama Chief Officer yang berada di darat untuk mencari peralatan yang diperlukan guna menangani kebocoran.

Linau, 26 September 2024 – A grounding incident involving the cargo ship GEORGIA SEJAHTERA was reported in the waters of Linau. The ship, carrying 7,300 tons of iron ore, experienced a leak on its starboard hull, forcing the captain to ground the vessel at coordinates 4°55.673' S 103°34.419' E.
According to Chief Officer Dwi Handoyo and First Engineer Amri Nur Arifin, the leak was detected at 22:00 WIB. The ship's captain, Suhardin, promptly decided to ground the vessel an hour later, at 23:00 WIB, to prevent further damage. The ship was en route from Tapak Tuan, Aceh, to Surabaya, with 18 crew members on board.

After coordinating with relevant agencies, UPP Linau conducted an inspection at the location at 08:00 WIB. The grounding position was confirmed at coordinates 4°55.673' S 103°34.419' E. Currently, the ship’s crew is searching for a pump to extract seawater from the vessel to reduce the leak, which was found at two points on the ship’s starboard hull.
UPP Linau remains in communication with the ship’s crew, particularly the Chief Officer, who is onshore searching for the necessary equipment to address the leakage.
