Tongkang Lancar 270 terpantau mengalami kemiringan ke kiri saat berada di tengah laut yang bergelombang. Kondisi cuaca yang tidak memungkinkan membuat nahkoda kapal SDS tidak bias merapat dan memutuskan untuk melanjutkan perjalanan sambil terus memantau situasi tongkang.
Keesokan harinya, pada 13 Agustus 2024 pukul 07.00 pagi, dilakukan pemantauan ulang terhadap Tongkang Lancar 270. Hasil pemantauan menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada penambahan kemiringan pada tongkang tersebut. Dengan kondisi yang stabil, nahkoda memutuskan untuk melanjutkan perjalanan sesuai tujuan.
Pemantauan kembali dilakukan pada 14 Agustus 2024 pukul 06.30 pagi. Hasilnya tetap menunjukkan tidak ada perubahan signifikan pada kemiringan tongkang, meskipun sinyal komunikasi belum dapat ditemukan. Pemantauan serupa kembali dilakukan pada 15 Agustus 2024 pukul 06.25 pagi, dengan hasil yang sama, yakni tidak ada penambahan kemiringan, namun sinyal untuk komunikasi masih belum terdeteksi.
Akhirnya, pada 16 Agustus 2024 pukul 06.45 pagi, pemantauan terakhir menunjukkan tidak ada perubahan kondisi tongkang. Pada pukul 15.30 sore hari, sinyal komunikasi akhirnya berhasil ditemukan. Nahkoda segera menghubungi pemilik tongkang dan melaporkan kondisi terkini Tongkang Lancar 270 beserta kapal SDS 2 dan seluruh awak kapal. Pemilik tongkang menyarankan untuk segera mencari lokasi yang aman untuk menambatkan tongkang. Setelah berkoordinasi, perjalanan dilanjutkan kembali, dan laporan disampaikan kepada agen PT. Kanaya.
Pada 17 Agustus 2024 pukul 03.00 subuh, Tongkang Lancar 270 berhasil tiba dengan aman di area Bojonegara. Tongkang tersebut kemudian diandaskan di lokasi yang aman sesuai arahan, untuk memastikan stabilitas dan keamanannya.
