KM.Binaria Indah 03 yang berangkat dari Pelabuhan Bangkurung pukul 10.30 WITA dengan membawa 17 penumpang dan 6 Anak Buah Kapal (ABK) mengalami insiden di perairan sekitar Luwuk. Pukul 15.00 WITA, kapal tersebut terjebak dalam cuaca buruk, dengan angin kencang dan ombak besar di koordinat 1° 8.825' S 122° 48.464' E.
Kondisi semakin memburuk pada pukul 16.30 WITA ketika air mulai masuk ke dalam kapal melalui samping depannya, menyebabkan mesin terendam air dan terjadinya pemadaman listrik. Nakhoda mengambil tindakan darurat dengan mengarahkan penumpang untuk menggunakan pelampung dan mengurangi beban muatan kapal sebanyak 3 ton kopra. Kapal kemudian merubah haluan ke pinggir.
Namun, usaha tersebut tidak mencegah kapal dari tenggelam pada koordinat 1°1,379' S 122°47,621' E. Evakuasi kemudian dilakukan pada pukul 17.00 WITA, dengan 17 penumpang dan 6 awak kapal berhasil diselamatkan oleh nelayan setempat dan dibawa ke pantai desa Bubung, yang berjarak sekitar 0,5 mil dari lokasi kapal tenggelam.

At 3:00 PM, the vessel became trapped in severe weather conditions, with strong winds and large waves at the coordinates 1° 8.825' S 122° 48.464' E.
Conditions worsened at 4:30 PM when water began to enter the ship through its bow, causing the engine to be submerged and resulting in a power outage. The captain took emergency action by directing passengers to use life jackets and reducing the ship's cargo by 3 tons of copra. The ship then changed course towards the shore.
However, these efforts did not prevent the ship from sinking at coordinates 1° 1.379' S 122° 47.621' E. Evacuation was then carried out at 5:00 PM, with 17 passengers and 6 crew members successfully rescued by local fishermen and taken to the shore of Bubung village, approximately 0.5 miles from the location where the ship sank.
